REPORT ON THE 11TH ANNUAL BOZEMAN HAMFEST
October 13, 2007 by your webmistress
Photos from Hamfest 2007
The 2007 Hamfest was a great success!! Thanks to all who helped,
setup, cleaned up and made it happen and thanks to EVERYONE who attended!
We had an amazing number of guests and double the table vendors we were
expecting. Thanks to all the vendors who were understanding a
bout our
lack of good planning on the tables - but everyone was accommodated.
We will have a completely new way of handling tables next year, with tables
being assigned before you even arrive.
The seminars were wonderful! K7YD gave us our annual update on all
things ARRL, as well as some technical info about emergency battery backup
charging (how to do it without blowing things up) and about antenna
grounding (for those who needed static discharge help, like your
webmistress). KI7XF gave great a talk on DF Fox Hunting, which I was
unable to attend - but I'll get more details on that soon. KE7X gave a
presentation about contesting and some of his best (and worst) DXpeditions.
Our VE Test session was successful, making three new Technician Class
licensees and one upgrade to a General Class Licensee! The raffles
were all great and a complete list of who won what will be published later.
But the grand prize, a Yaesu FT8800, was won by KC7EWZ, Don of Bozeman.
Congratulations Don!
Again, thanks to everyone that made the hamfest great! Hope to see you
all again next year! Plans for the 2008 hamfest will be posted as soon
as we have them, assuming we are able to do it again! 73 de KJ7UN
